About this Wiki
This Wiki was created by Dr. Mark Moritz's Anthropology 620.01 class, Autumn Quarter in 2007 at The Ohio State University. It is annually updated by subsequent Anthropology 620.01 students with the goal of compiling an extensive resource on Hunter-Gatherers while highlighting their diversity and without recreating the Hunter-Gatherer Myth. The motto for the wiki and the course is "Scientifically studying the diversity of forager societies without recreating a myth".
In preparation for the creation of this wiki we examined the style of both Wikipedia and scholarly articles. This wiki is a mixture of the two. The wiki is meant to have the breadth of an encyclopedia with the accuracy and reliability of a peer reviewed scholarly article, yet it is created collaboratively in a wiki format.
Both the Topics and Forager Societies sections were created as a part of projects for the class, however the rest of the wiki was added independently in order to expand the wiki in areas not covered by the projects.
Use the links from the top bar menu to access "content pages". Use the links in the side bar menu for quick access to changes to the wiki and other resources.
